I (the project PI) visited Lund University in Sweden for the tour of the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) and research meetings with Dr Jessika Richter and Dr Jagdeep Singh on 9th and 10th of June 2023. I learned a lot about various research conducted at IIIEE regarding circular economy & business models, urban transformation & nature-based solutions, decarbonised & just energy transitions, consumption & lifestyle behaviours, low carbon mobility & accessibility, and products & resource efficiency. The particularly interesting project was using an interactive board game to engage citizens with 50 lifestyle options to assess acceptance, motivations, enablers and barriers to implementation as part of the EU 1.5° lifestyles project. Informed and inspired by this project, I am working on designing and developing a new participatory research project using a gamification strategy combined with evidence-based community interventions.
